awww - again a perfect chapter. I know this was a tricky one to write but you handled it beautifully, with Ben's and Betry's reactions! And again sucha joy to see Luke and Mara so mature, able to handle the situation even when they have no clue of what to do!
"She was beautiful, this daughter he never had." That sentence just brought tears to my eyes! I've never rooted for L&M to have a big family as I think one child is such an tremendous gift in itself and think they'd feel the same way - but to see a child you never had... that's - wow!
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed this. It was a tough chapter to write. I had the idea of it in mind but wasn't sure how angry/surprised the kids would be. I finally settled on the fact that they see so many fantastic things in their daily lives that maybe they would be able to get over the shock a bit more quickly than the rest of us would.
I wish that L/M had had at least one more child, but you're so right that one is a gift. And when I think that we might never have gotten Ben, that makes me sad. A little piece of Mara lives on through him and that can't be taken away!
I hope you'll enjoy seeing more of B&B in chapter 14!
I finally got to sit down and read this and I just have to say that I am COMPLETELY blown away, girl!!! The premise is fascinating and true to the EU while still being AU, the characters are unbelievably believable, and the writing is...well...hands-down the best you've ever written! At least, that I've read. *applause*
