On Saturday, before drawing at the Hunterian, I plan to go elephant hunting. I spotted one already when I was out with omg_its_fiore, but surprisingly I haven't seen any others! Anyway, to get into the spirit of things, here's a drawing of one of the most famous elephants, the God Ganesha. While researching him I found this:

This is gorgeous!!! I vaguely recall that Ganesh is supposed to have got his elephant head after his own father chopped off his original one? Apparently by the time the father realized he'd overreacted a bit, the real head had rolled away down the mountainside and there just happened to be an elephant sauntering by... Am I getting any of this right, or have I been dreaming again? Good luck at the Hunterian! I found it impossible to draw there because it is SO dark, but one thing that WAS clearly visible was a Great Auk skeleton. Made it all worthwhile...
