I just call it "the horn", which as you can tell is REALLY technical.

But yeah, that's the difference. The males use the horns to fight with.

Snoutything for sure, and is the female more robust in the hind-limb department? Might be just the angle, but I've found that in some beetles (esp stag beetles) the females often have chunkier legs. Maybe coz they do all the work , digging into treestumps, ground etc...

Not sure about the legs to be honest. I can look again at the same specimen at our next class and let you know. But yeah, the horn on top of the head was the main difference.
