Here is why. They are constantly tempting my wallet with gorgeous books that are usually beyond my budget. Occassionally I get lucky and find stuff like the oversized version of the
Cabinet of Natural Curiousities for 70% off the original price, but usually, I am left drooling over a book I can't have.

I'm no expert at all in these matters but if the answer to the above is a no, I'd say you're free to use the likenesses of your characters in any way you please as long as you don't use the OHG names.

It's the likeness I want to use, nothing more. I certainly won't be writing a plot involving an atheist professor and whiny god character. :)

I may eventually take down the OHG video. You wouldn't believe how many comments I get saying it should be made into a whole series. It's flattering, but it's not my idea and I can't do anything further with it.
