It coincides with Jazzfest, so I'm gonna crash with some friends and have a quickie getaway instead of organizing something at home for a change. Anyone want to babysit my kitties while I'm away? worse than florida, it is the floribama state line. so i'm absurdly close not to be there all the time. but getting two days off in a row on a weekend from a hotel this time of year is basically the same thing as handing in your resignation. carp.

and abita strawberry is basically the best thing ever, its beer.. made with real louisiana strawberries... i mean it TASTES LIKE STRAWBERRRIES not artificial flavoring. i have in the past driven 2.5 hours from my house to slidell, LA, just to get some. i am also drinking some right now.

if you see an adorable short blond waitress named savannah over there tell her i say hello, she is mah be-eff-eff forevz. if you get drunk on decatur and want a pizza, go to angeli's. if you want a burger go to port of call. eat a muffaletta for me and i expect a full report upon your return! i am so jealous.

I must admit the Opera is really most fun. I saw a friend perform in Semiramide up at Caramoor a bit ago and really had a blast. I keep hoping he performs something else so I can go. Getting back stage at the opera as a blue haired tattooed freak whilst the opera groupies waited in earnest was even more fun, teehee.

Most jealous of your NOLA trip. Once I get my car situation settled I am hoping to road trip it in the Fall. Take many many pictures.

Oh yes, getting backstage while the groupies wait is always fun.

I probably won't take that many pics of NOLA. I've been there several times already. My friend DH is a chef and I'll probably wind up spending most of my time in her backyard sipping homemade vanilla infused vodka drinks, eating whatever she brings out of her kitchen and playing with her dogs. The perfect escape!
