Just had a confrontation with the free-loading boyfriend of our housemate. We (Jess and I) have gradually found ourselves living with inconsiderate piggies. But...that aside...a few weeks ago C and D decided to bring home a duck. Jess and I were a little worried considering they already had a cat and they didn't really pay him any attention. But

Argh, the RSPCA seems like a last resort to me IMO, and like you said, would be interferring (not just with the ducks but with the balance of the relationship). At the same time I do think that you've exhausted your options because you've tried talking to them already and it's clear that they just do not get it.

Not sure about kicking them out either - maybe put a strict ban on more animals since it's clear that they're not willing to take care of them.
