Thanks.

I would say that Danny's my favorite too, but I like me the Mac. And Stella. And Flack. And Hawkes. :-P

And although the idea of him being killed is very sad, I think it was a fitting death that would fit in with the storyline.

I enjoyed the story, it was well written and quite captivating.

However I am a little confused by your author's note. It is my understanding that the character's first name is Mackenzie. I remember hearing/reading the name Det. Mackenzie ("Mac") Taylor somewhere outside of the world of fanon, more than once actually so I am a little lost to why you needed to give him a first name. But then I could be wrong about the first name thing.

Thanks.

I've never seen any evidence of a formal or full name for Mac, nor has stellaluna_. I've been looking for any evidence, and so far I haven't seen it. They may tell us next season, for all we know though, look what they did with Mac and Danny! They're good at suprising us. I'd be open to it if you had the proof. I haven't seen caps up, but I'm thinking of looking at Mac's marine 'profile' that was shown.... Except I can't remember which ep it was in. :-/

After some thought, I do believe it was back when I was first reading some summaries of the show before it launched. Well I know how reliable that info can be... *rolls eyes*. But I do like the name Mackenzie, seems to suit him in my mind, so I actually remembered the info.

I checked his marine profile in "Charge of this Post" today-- no sign of a longer name. They're just not giving us anything to work with, and the only thing I've ever seen was them spelling Mac's name "Mack" on IMDB. (which they later corrected)

It is quite fitting, and not something I would have assigned without a lot of thought and discussion. stellaluna_ agrees that it is his name, although we do disagree a bit what his first name could be, other than something traditional and slightly formal. (She says Joseph, I say William.) Especially since a lot of people go by their middle names or a derivative of them.

I find it the most amusing/ironic that one of Gary's kids is called Mac and that he plays a character with the same name. :-)

Wow. That was so heartbreaking. I love how you went at it from a different perspective, that it wasn't Mac talking directly.

Thanks. Sometimes things just come to me, and this one was just one of those stories. I was unsure for a while about having it from an outsider's perspective, but people seem to be interested in it, so it worked. And he was talking... to her. ;-)

Amazing. This was so poignant. I have always enjoyed what happened afterwards. An interesting POV as well.

Thanks. I admit I was worried about what people would think of an "outisder" POV, but it's seemed to go over very well. :-)

Thanks.

A lot with Mac is his denial and internal dialogues. I think he's perceptions are a bit... skewed. Not in a bad way, but that he would be so hard on himeself and blame himself for a lot of what's gone on in his life whether or not he had any control over it.

And it is kinda fun to see how someone else would see him-- someone removed from the situation and with their own thoughts and experiences.
