Wonder if the CI reference was just because, according to Tim in that recent interview, that is what ex cons are called when they help out the good side?

Watched it again.
My fav part of the ep is as Neal is explaining his idea to Peter, who gradually starts grinning and falling for Neal the idea. He loves how smart his boyfriend is :D

HELLO, I R SLOW. :-/

I know what a CI is, but I was just thinking it was weird that all this time they talk about Neal being a 'consultant' and he just throws out 'CI' in the middle of it. I guess maybe to them, the idea is synonymous. But since people KNOW he's a consultant, it just doesn't seem that confidential to me.

When Neal and Peter start syncing up, it's clear that they'd follow each other just about to the ends of the earth. Their love is something special.

I think Neal is a consultant to the outside world and an extremely well-thought of CI to the FBI. The fact that he's a criminal assisting law enforcement is not ancillary to his relationship with them, it's a primary part of it.

I like your observation about Psych/Burn Notice/White Collar. I think the fact that all are crime shows isn't necessarily significant because it's a popular genre, but the other dynamics you've mentioned are interesting. There's been observations about El that she seems a little attracted to Neal's world, and I think that may be representative of what a lot of people like about the shows in that we get to experience sneaky stuff but all for a good cause.

Slow responder is slow! :-( Thanks for coming and visiting. :-)

Right, I can agree that he's a CI to them, but it just seemed weird that they tossed it in the middle of the show after putting so much emphasis on his 'consulting'. Also, people know he's working/'consulting' with the FBI-- not so confidential, and that's a key part of being a CI.

Thanks. I just noticed a trend in USA's shows. It seems like they're sort of saying, 'hey, we found a formula that works, let's go with it until it doesn't.' (Not that I don't love all those shows because I totally watch them, but it seemed a bit formulaic.)

True. Most people like to see the happy ending, and if they can be a little bad to get there, people like it more. (And if I were El, I'd want to spend all the time I could playing with both of her boys, in both appropriate and inappropriate ways.)

Slow response is slow, sorry. :-(

They are all so much love. I don't think I've seen a show (or cast, holy crap!) that is soooooo amazingly slashy/OT3 in a very very long time. They've got Eureka beat, and that's saying something.

Leverage does fit the general category, but it's not a USA network show. It's a TNT network show. :-)

Tim himself describes Neal as 'half of Robin Hood' in the webcast. I think the theme/allegory definitely stands.
