I've never been ashamed of what I have done here or the people I've run with. I never so much as raised a hand to a person that didn't harm me or mine first.

What I do and have done is not something that everyone is going to think normal, and I've reconciled myself to that. But does not, and has never made me a sinner. I never took what I didn't ( Read more... )

I'm not either, but I'm not too sure that there aren't others that will avoid exacerbating the situation brewing. [The juggler is oddly serious.]

Too late now. They ought to not put up the merry-go-round tonight, I don't think. Or the wheel. Just the stands, because the stands will be easy enough to drive away.

I love my boy, Morgan. He's not my flesh and blood; she left my side not long after I crossed the ocean; but I love him nonetheless. We need to be ready to move on.

And keep an eye on West, would you?

[So Kirk is pretty serious about wanting to leave. If only because Prefect has convinced him that they can do better with their lives and after what happened to Leia, he really wants better. First it was Morgan's knee and now Johnnies are roughing up his sister and they ain't getting their hands on his kid or nieces if he has anything to say about it.

He was sitting in a chair, leaning it back on two legs, staring pensively at his hands as he waited for the rest of the girls to show.]

[Morgan's been on her feet most of the day and is resting now. Her brace is off for the time being and standing next to her bed, where she's sitting. The knee bends just fine and under her trousers is a scarred mess -- it's just not strong enough to lock and support her without help. She's dusting off an old stovepipe hat that she uses sometimes during the shows and looking grim.]

[Donny arrives and finds a corner to sit himself, figuring doing what he was told and being prompt about it was the best way to not piss off the carnival folk before he could even begin to establish himself. He keeps to himself too, but does make sure to nod politely towards Kirk and Morgan, seeing as they were the head of the family he was hoping to join.]

[ Steph arrives a few minutes after Donny, having taken all of five minutes to throw some things in a bag in case her family is too scared by the townspeople to let him stay. She doesn't really expect to be running away tonight, but it wouldn't hurt for them to see how serious she was. They couldn't control her life, and they needed to know it. She sits down next to him, ankles crossed and hands in her lap like a lady, but not quite finding the courage to look the others in the eye. She's too afraid of what she might see there. ]
