My responsibilities cease to be in effect when I choose to stop taking them.

Major Henry West was entrusted to my protection, guidance, and disciplinary action, when necessary.

When I require your 'security precautions' to do my job, I will be glad of the assistance, but in the meantime I'll thank you not to interfere with my duties.
