Everyone looked back and forth from Gyuri to Hyoyeon to see which one would make the first move or say something first. Hyoyeon awkwardly smiled at Gyuri and gave a quick glance at her friends before finally speaking. “Hey Gyuri…um, I need to get to class before I’m late so see you around.”
She quickly waved at the older girl before trying to walk away as quickly as she could but before she could even take a step, Gyuri was grabbing the hood of her sweater and dragging her away. Seungyeon and Nicole quickly followed them inside the school and Hyoyeon kept yelling at Gyuri to let her go.
“I told Hyoyeon not to mess with Gyuri but that’s what she gets. Oh well.” Jessica shrugged her shoulders and started walking towards the school once again. Junsu sighed and begin to follow Jessica with Tiffany trailing right behind them.
Once inside the school, Gyuri had dragged Hyoyeon all the way to one of the empty classes and Seungyeon and Nicole were standing outside the door making sure Hyoyeon wouldn’t suddenly burst out of the room and escape. Nicole looked over at Seungyeon and noticed the serious and perhaps annoyed expression on her friend’s face. She then turned to look through the small window on the door to see Hyoyeon sitting on a desk looking away from Gyuri with the older girl just staring the other one down.
“Hyoyeon! Look at me when I’m talking to you!” Gyuri yelled at her. Uninterested, Hyoyeon turned to give her a quick glance before looking down at the desk.
“Ugh! Why didn’t you meet me last night?! Do you know how important it was for you to be there?!” Gyuri slammed her hands down on the desk Hyoyeon was sitting in and glared at the younger girl.
“I had to work.” Hyoyeon quickly responded, still looking away from the older girl.
“Work?! Work?! Ahahaha! Please, you know that there is nothing more important than me when I request something from you.”
Hyoyeon rolled her eyes and finally turned to look at Gyuri. “Gyuri, just get to the point will ya? What do you want? Another quick fuck? Because if that’s what you want, well I’m not interested anymore. Been there, done that.”
Gyuri gritted her teeth and clenched her fists. She couldn’t stand how arrogant Hyoyeon was being despite herself being the more arrogant of the two. Sighing, she decided to tell her what she wanted to say the night before. “Hyoyeon, what I want is for you to be mine, and mine only. You thought it would be funny to sleep with me one time and leave right? Well not for me. No one plays me Kim Hyoyeon and now you will be mine.”
Hyoyeon raised and eyebrow than started laughing hard. All the girls who thought they could make her their girlfriend in the past had failed and nothing that Gyuri had would make her even consider it. Of course she thought Gyuri was attractive and beautiful, she carried herself around like a goddess, and that was the reason she had accepted the bet to get Gyuri to sleep with her, but her intention was never to be her girlfriend. She enjoyed having a good time and not having to deal with any emotional attachment, despite leaving a trail of broken hearts behind her.
Outside the room Seungyeon was starting to become more eager waiting for Gyuri to finally come out of the room. Nicole had been taking a notice at this and lightly sighed. She turned to look at her friend and decided to distract her for a bit. “Seungyeon?”
“What?” She asked as she turned to look at the younger girl.
“If Hyoyeon accepts Gyuri’s proposition…will you really support her? I know you’re in love with her, but you have to realize that she won’t ever look at you the way you look at her. She wont ever love you the way you-” Nicole was telling her friend when she was suddenly cut off.
“Don’t say it! This whole thing is temporary. It won’t last.” Seungyeon was even more annoyed now.
“Yeah, but that doesn’t mean she will suddenly go for you.” Nicole replied.
“Will you shut up Nicole?” Seungyeon bitterly shouted at Nicole and the younger girl sighed. She cared too much for Seungyeon to see her get hurt but she was hoping Gyuri’s plan would work and help Seungyeon realize that their mutual friend would never like her the same way.
Hyoyeon had stopped laughing once Gyuri had explained to her the consequences of what would happen if she didn’t become her girlfriend. To get kicked out of school herself was one thing, but to see Junsu get kicked out, that hit her hard. She could careless what her parents, mainly their father, would say about it but not her dear brother. To her family, he was their all, and to see him get kicked out of one of the most prestigious schools in the country would be the worst that could happen. So she sat there, thinking about Gyuri’s proposition with outmost seriousness. If she accepted to become Gyuri’s girlfriend, she would be going against her principles, but if she didn’t then both she and Junsu would get kicked out of school. It almost seemed impossible at first that Gyuri could do this, but her father held too much influence which probably transferred to her as well.
Gyuri paced around the room waiting for Hyoyeon’s response. The more she did it, the more she became annoyed that she was taking too long to give her an answer. Hyoyeon scratched her head when she suddenly remembered an important part about becoming Gyuri’s girlfriend. If she accepted it, then it would save Junsu but it would sacrifice her, but to Hyoyeon, she was fine with it. She would put up with everything Gyuri wanted knowing that the older girl could call her girlfriend and ask her for the most ridiculous things, but she could never break her spirit. Yes, Hyoyeon would play Gyuri’s game but continue with her usual behavior on the side.
Hyoyeon let out a smirk and finally stood up from her desk and walked over to Gyuri. “I’ve made up my mind.”
Finally hearing her voice, Gyuri turned around to look at Hyoyeon with anticipation. “Yes?”
“I’ve decided to become your girlfriend. I’ll submit to all your desires.” Hyoyeon bowed and grinned with mischievousness. Gyuri grinned at the sight, feeling elated, not because she had won, but because it now gave her the opportunity to break Hyoyeon apart piece by piece.
“Excellent, you’ve made a wise decision.” She walked up to the other girl and placed a light kiss on her neck causing Hyoyeon to flinch a bit.
“I’ll meet you at Jessica’s soccer practice later today.” Gyuri smiled at her and walked towards the door and then left the room. Hyoyeon sighed heavily and took a seat on another desk. She looked at the time and saw that she was over half and hour late to her first class. Knowing it would end soon, she decided to walk towards the room and wait for her friends outside.
As she made her way down the school hallways, she was suddenly stopped by Nicole who had been waiting for her around one of the many corners. “Hyoyeon, wait up!”
“What do you want?” Hyoyeon quickly asked her as she turned around to face her.
“Gyuri told us you accepted her proposition. I hope you’re prepared.” Nicole smirked.
“You know, this would have never happened if I didn’t accept that bet you proposed. Nicole, I don’t know what you’re planning, but thanks for dragging me into your plan to destroy Gyuri. Or whatever the heck you were planning to do anyways.” Hyoyeon said sarcastically.
Nicole let out a chuckle and slightly slapped Hyoyeon’s shoulder. “Hey, I didn’t think she would end up tying you up as her girlfriend, but don’t worry. I’ve got your back and if you’ll let me help you, we can both bring Gyuri down.”
Hyoyeon raised an eyebrow. “Isn’t she supposed to be like your best friend? I don’t understand what you have against her.”
“I have never considered her my best friend. I only pretend to be her friend, and do what she asks of us because it was the only way I could…I could…” She trailed off, unsure if she should let Hyoyeon know her reasons.
“You could what?” Hyoyeon asked curiously.
“Never mind, just forget about it and know that I have your back. See ya around, bye.” Nicole quickly took off in the opposite direction leaving a frowning Hyoyeon behind.
Hyoyeon had finally found her way to her first class and stood outside the door waiting for about five minutes before everyone began to walk out of the class. When her friends finally walked out, she called out of them and they joined her, curious as to what had happened between her and Gyuri.
“So what happened with Gyuri sis?” Junsu asked her.
“Did you have sex with her again?” Jessica asked and Tiffany just looked back and forth from Hyoyeon and Jessica.
“No, I didn’t. She um, well, can we just say that uh, well…” Hyoyeon trailed off not sure of how to say a certain word. She wasn’t used to it just yet.
“Well what?” Jessica asked in anticipation.
“Is she your girlfriend now or something?” Tiffany asked and shrugged at Jessica and Junsu when they turned to look at her.
“Yeah….” Hyoyeon replied. Junsu’s mouth dropped and Jessica started laughing uncontrollably while leaning up against Tiffany.
“It’s not funny Sica! I had to do it or she would get Junsu kicked out of school!” Hyoyeon yelled at her best friend and pushed her off Tiffany.
“Oh my…sis, you didn’t have to do it! How could you just accept it?” Junsu managed to ask her while still pretty surprised. Tiffany frowned and thought about how hard the situation must have been when Gyuri told her what she was planning. She could still remember clearly from the day before what Gyuri had told all of them at the bleachers. She seemed to be the biggest bitch around and it was enough to make Tiffany dislike her.
Feeling sorry for Hyoyeon, Tiffany let go of any awkwardness she felt for her, and quickly embraced Hyoyeon in a tight hug surprising everyone, especially Hyoyeon and Jessica. “I’m sorry you had to accept that conniving woman’s proposal.”
“Um…it’s ok really.” Hyoyeon gave Tiffany an awkward smile. “Look, Gyuri can try and tie me down, but she can't break my will. It won’t stop me from being me. Anyways, shouldn’t we get going? We still have classes to attend right?”
Everyone nodded and began to head to their next class. Jessica and Hyoyeon had their next class together while Junsu and Tiffany had different classes. They made their separate ways around the school while Hyoyeon and Jessica walked towards their class together. Jessica had felt rather jealous of Hyoyeon when Tiffany hugged her but she knew her friend had no intention of ever going for the mushroom. Jessica smiled at the new nickname she had given the girl. She would have to call her that later that day.
