she knows that Remus can bear almost anything. / Apart from her losing her temper for his sake. -- Those two lines pack in so much characterization, of both of them. The whole first scene had me as tense as Remus and Tonks must be, while still cheering them on for this: They’re going to do this, and they’re going to get what they want out of it. / And they’re going to do it together. And good for Tonks for keeping her temper by thinking about ferrets. ;)
It’s only later, in fact several weeks later, that he realises he’s given up his customary position as an observer to other lives and has stepped into his own once more. -- Brr, that hurts to read, but it's very apt for Remus, indeed ( ... )

I really like the way you show things developing between them, too, with Remus falling fast and hard and then (of course) pulling back. But Tonks sees through him, thank goodness. And her matter-of-fact approachMy idea when writing this was that this is the start of the pressure cooker starting to steam away nicely for Remus as we go into DH in canon. He wants to get married, he thinks he's prepared for everything they'll throw at him, but what he isn't prepared for is everything they'll throw at Tonks as well. And I think the irony is that my Tonks here actually has very few illusions about how tough it will be and in fact is a lot more worried for ( ... )

Hee! But, never fear, what you've written here just makes me all the more eager to read the second part, should it come to be someday!
I think your plans for Remus's DH pressure cooker make a lot of sense (and I would say this even if I hadn't been thinking along similar lines, lol -- though with different details, of course!). I think it's in Remus's nature to feel much more awful about things he brings about that affect other people than things that only happen to him. Goes along with the whole wanting-to-be-liked, I suppose.
Good luck with your Meta piece -- something else I am very much looking forward to! :D
