This is a beautiful Christmas story. There's just enough melancholy in it to bring out the sweetness. I'm glad you decided to write one more Christmas for them.

Thank you very much. ♥ The Christmas Advents at Meta were always my favourite - we got so many tremendous stories and artwork out of them - and it was like old times writing this. Lovely to know you enjoyed it.

It's like having another Christmas present to have a new R/T fic from you to read! This is a delight, with its humorous tone underlain with deeper currents. That sad lonely smile you give Remus makes me want to hug him, and I was very glad to learn that it has exactly the right effect on Tonks and her choice of Christmas gift. ;)

Along with your hopeful Tonks and heart-tugging Remus, I really like the way you write Sirius, and it's so nice to see him in his element here, when he was still having fun with Christmas. His snowdrift that Tonks keeps sinking into and his laugh when he realizes that both parties are approaching him for help are particular favorites.

Moony’s the bravest man I know over many things but this will be difficult for him -- I really like what that says about Remus and about how well Sirius understands him ( ... )

I didn't think I'd ever be writing another R/T Christmas fic, but it was such fun to do (and a lot easier than the pesky Downton one!). I also didn't think I'd manage yet another get together plot, but it appears there is no end to my repetition on an R/T theme. Which makes it very nice indeed to hear you enjoyed it.

I've often thought present buying must have been awkward for them when money and pride comes into the equation, let alone the difficulties of buying for friends and those you'd like to be something more. Both of them coming up with something that cost nothing but gave them a great deal in the way of future hope seemed like an obvious way round it, though I wish I'd put a couple more lines in to emphasise the uncertainty of war really hitting home, especially for Tonks, and how shocked the adults must have when Arthur was bitten. Ah well. There is always next year and 'one more last R/T Christmas fic'. ;)

The idea of Remus finding the perfect Christmas view for Tonks is, well, perfect. And so romantic. (Actually, ( ... )

*sigh*

I don't know whether I'm sighing at the words "one last R/T story" or because this was perfect.

All three of them are just right. Your Sirius -- God, your Sirius. He's just so charmingly full of it. And he can be such a sweetheart. Oddly, I laughed out loud at “I am not asking my mother to bake gingerbread biscuits for a man I’ve never mentioned before!” -- Tonks was so keyed up that you built up to that mini-explosion so well. Tonks and Remus are somehow adorably awkward without ever being pathetic or childish. And I adore the image of Remus standing and thinking in the dark for so long, and then spotting Sirius and their exchange. That moment just captured how well the two know each other so well.

This was a holiday read of unlooked-for awesomeness. Happy New Year's. :)

Aw, you are good to be popping over here to leave much appreciated reviews when there is so much going on at present! ♥ It's great to hear you enjoyed this - I don't think I've missed an R/T Christmas fic, sometimes writing two or three of them, at Meta over the years, and so there was a lot of nostalgia and just as much enjoyment in doing this one for wildmagelet. I'm pretty sure I haven't said anything new about them as a pairing at all, but it was a nice reminder of why I love them so. Plus Sirius being 'full of it' is a must in my world, lol.

Happy 2012. Let's hope it's a good year all round. :)
