A bit knackered.

I managed till 3.30am but then succumbed. Did anything happen...?

*G*

So, we are well hung and loads of people didn't get to vote. And the ash is back. Lovely!

The next few days look set to be interesting. Shall I put the kettle on?

Rose pouchong? It's Friday, love, let's be happy despite the lot of them.

Hmmm. I seem to have lost my tea icon... And LJ not sending the notifications again for pity's sake.

So, we are well hung

Does this mean the same thing in British as it does in American???

I had to read that sentence about five times... I've been following things a little, because I often listen to a few minutes of BBC news during my morning commute, and though the physical characteristics of the major candidates have been mentioned, nothing below the waist...

On the off chance you're lookig for actual information... gillyp May 7 2010, 11:47:37 UTC
:o) It means no one party has a majority, hasn't gained enough seats to form a government. It means coalitions are in order and they tend to be a bit of a disaster. It means we're almost certain to have to go through all this again in a few months time.

Hung means the same here, yes and believe me, the jokes have all already been made by about 7.00 this morning. :o)

Hung has a bunch of meanings here; only when you stick "well" in front of it does it almost always mean, well, yk. I'm thinking that's not the case in the UK? Because "truly hung" or "completely hung" would work just as well to describe the election results...

Either or, here - Isn't the TV show just 'Hung'?

Truly/completely hung aren't familiar expressions to me, a hung parliament is just 'hung'. Either way, we're all buggered. *G*

Great article! I checked the BBC site about midnight our time. Startled me a bit because there was pre-dawn light.

You all have taken too many lessons from American politics. First the debates, then hanky-panky at the polls. On the one hand you get it over with pretty fast. But doing it all again in six months would kill me.

I don;t think it was hanky panky so much as sheer bloody incompetence! They simply weren't expecting such an enthusiastic turn out - and a lot of people simply left it too late. I foresee all kinds of legal wrangling though, especially with the vote being so close in some places, recounts all over the place. Ed Balls (government minister) barely scraped in by 100 votes, Glenda Jackson by only 42. Like I said, it's going to be interesting for a while.;o)

I think this one's going down as a classic cock-up with extra-added bungling. Talk about living in interesting times... yeah, love a cuppa please - I'll bring the chocolate chip cookies and the voddy chasers.

You know, now the tension's over, I find myself rather enjoying the fall-out, I'm becomming adicted to the tension. :o) I must admit, hearing Alastair Campbell being so bloody MalcolmTuckery on the barge last night wuith his live! on air 'fuck offs' did my old heart very good indeed.

Voddy chasers sound bloody marvellous love. Chocolate, alcohol and tea, my drugs of choice for any and every occasion.

It's Friday, babe, and not any old Friday! either. This is post-election-balls-up Friday, let us be glad we survived and then lose ourselves in drink. You know it makes sense.

'Well hung' bwahahahahahahaha!

Um yeah, I might have been watching until 3:30 too. It got a bit surreal in my head at that point, and this morning it looks like we broke the country.

Should be fun to watch, mind.
