We are still in Yorkshire and it's all my fault.

It was thawing late yesterday, Mark said - let's go, but it was already gone 1pm, and we'd be getting home in the dark and I was worried about Dad, who needs a lot of forewarning about any kind of change to his routine and I said, no, the snow ploughs have been through, it's thawing, it's raining in ( Read more... )

i may be some time, weather, penistone

Sorry to hear that! :( you couldn't have known though, and at least you're still with your dad, so he's probably more comfortable with the situation than if you'd left...

Stay warm and don't fall!

Dad and sister and partner and assorted animals all with a case of severe cabin fever. *g*

Won't fall, not going anywhere! No one is, it's eerily silent out there O:!

You should find some snow shoes and get out!

It's always eerily silent in REAL winter! The snow muffles the noise... ;)

I'm afraid so, and I've just been informed my birthday presents are all still in Withnell, as is my phone which has been on charge now since the morning of Dec 23rd.

Shaking fists at it doesn't help, believe me I've tried. Could try lining the route with warm cabana boys...

Not too worried about the pressies, it's one of those birthdays I'd like to quietly forget. Any chance of me borrowing your '50' icon, in 26 hours, I shall be in need of just such an item.

It's scarily icy, I've never seen anything quite like it, it's scarily quiet on the street, no one, nothing is moving. most worrying of all, I assume this means our wine won't be delivered again.

You were listening to the BBC talk about black ice in Yorkshire? Might one enquire why?

You could try making your own... You probably have enough time...

It was the middle of the night... There probably wasn't anything else on!
