Andy Burnham is quoted on the BBC News site as saying this. OK, one of the few sensible things to come from a Labour education spokesman in a while, but still.

Tea is soothing. I am tense. The swings are quite big. The Tories have won one seat from Labour. The LibDems have held two seats. Robinson has lost to the Alliance in Belfast East. I have no idea what to make of it all but I'm jumpy as a kitten on speed...

It couldn't happen to a better bunch of swine.

And a Yahoo citation too, which might be considered less biased. In a possibly depressing evening it is good news to see the BNP imploding.

Bizarrely, there was a red-carpeted marquee outside the door into the rugby club. From the look of the sparkly sequins on the ground it had been used for an 18th birthday party recently. I shall go to vote at the local rugby club this evening, walking round with Dave and R unless it's chucking it down. I doubt if my vote will count for much since they redrew the boundaries to put our small town with one even smaller and a lot of tiny villages and barn conversions. But needs must ( Read more... )
