So it turns out that I have been missing a lot of your stories!
Never seen this one back then. It's beautiful and heart wrenching. If I was the crying kind, this would have got it going. The impression of loss that you build with the description of the wreck of the already miserable apartment is perfect.
(I need to take this Spike and pamper him a bit...how much more loss can a vampire take?)
