It's so sad that this tragedy could so easily have been avoided if Cameron and Maude had kept their ridiculous advice to themselves. :(

My husband actually needed petrol this morning, but couldn't get anywhere near a service station as the queues were a mile long! He finally managed to get some this afternoon, but it was touch and go whether he would have enough to even get him home when he finished work this morning.

I can't remember ever hating a government quite as much as I hate this one. Maggie Thatcher was bad enough, but I think Cameron is shaping up to be even worse than her! :(

It makes me very angry. Maude is not so bright and he has endangered people just in order to whip up anti-union panic. My husband had a long queue for fuel yesterday, too.

I hated Thatcher deeply, but there is something about Cameron and his bunch that make me feel almost physically sick. It's the cynicism, I think. And the contempt for ordinary people.

On Radio 4 they also mentioned that, after Francis Maude's oh so helpful advice, "Halfords reported 'extraordinarily high' sales of fuel cans, with all cans soaring 225 per cent compared with this time last year, while sales of jerry cans were up by more than 500 per cent".

I don't suppose he has shares in them?

One does wonder.

They just want to encourage as much panic as possible to blame on the unions.
