The weather is utterly foul. It usually is dark at a quarter to midnight, to be fair, but does it have to be so windy it's scary? We have Big Trees at the front, yo.

I can say that convincingly, honest. *g* Actually the trees are enormous - sequoias twice the height of the house, probably planted when the Victorian house (knocked down to make way for ours) was built. I just hope they have deep roots.
