Shera had been up since sunrise that morning. The house was...well...It was The Captain's house after all. There was so much to be done! Dusting, mopping, cleaning the rugs, washing the windows, cleaning the chimney; all of which was done with a smile. There was almost a bounce in her step as she blew through the house like a cleaning hurricane. It was now around noon, and though there was much more to be done, Shera was satisfied ( ... )

Cid gave Shera a grumpy look, folding his arms, after he ran a hand through his hair. "Don’t give me that look, Shera. Everythin' have been goin' shit house since you've been gone. I've been waitin' on you to start up the Bronco. It wouldn't be the same without you here."

Cid sighed and lowered his arms. Gods, he knew he was making her feel guilty. Cid supposed that old habits die hard.

"I've missed you," Cid said in a low voice, taking his eyes off hers. "I’m glad you're back."

Then, Cid noticed that Shera was wearing the dress he picked out for her. He wasn’t good at shopping or guessing women’s sizes. Cid counted himself lucky that it was the right size. She looked exactly how he pictured her in it.

...He wasn’t sure how long he was studying her in the dress, so he gave a manly cough and looked towards what she was making. Cid figured she would have something good cooking, but nothing this good. His favorite meal ( ... )

Shera smiled nervously and looked down when she saw Cid's trademark aggravated look; however; she couldn't help but feel appreciated by what he was saying. He actually put off testing The Tiny Bronco until she got back. She concentrated on hiding her blushing as best she could. Shera returned her gaze to him when she thought that she heard him say something, but decided not to pursue it ( ... )

As he watched Shera set the food on the plate, he shock his head. “I scared those wolves shitless. They won’t be back,” Cid said, in his cocky way. “Plus, I’ve made a few changes around here to make sure they won’t harm the birds ( ... )

Once Cid began to eat, Shera joined in as well. She couldn't help but giggle at him cramming the food in his mouth. It made her very pleased to see that he was enjoying her meal so much ( ... )

Cid took his last cube of steak and ran it around in the juice that remained on the plate from where the steak had been. He put the last piece in his mouth and he took the plate up off the table. Walking over to Shera, he took her plate and took them both to the sink. Wiping his hands on his pants, Cid walked over to Shera and took her hand. Not waiting for a reaction, he directed her out to the chair. He didn't say anything. His wheels were too busy turning, planning everything last minute ( ... )
