God, Tidus was tired.

Exhausted, rather.

He had a late shift, and it seemed as though everyone and their mom wanted a drink, and it was just a busy night, and Tidus wanted to go home.

So that's where he was - on his way home from work... in the middle of the night.

As he took a few steps forward, the shadow of someone else caught his eye. At first, he didn't think twice about it - what did he care if someone was randomly patrolling the streets at night? It was none of his business. But for some reason the dim lights shining on the person's face looked familiar, and it gave him an odd feeling. Did he know this person?

So he walked a little closer - not obiously so, but close enough so that he could get a better look at the stranger.

Shit.

Seymour caught the light off the boy's face and sheathed back his sword. It was HIM well.. wouldn't this be ever so unfortunate. But for who exactly? He did not see Yuna with the young man... what was his name.. Tidus was it? Yes, how could he ever forget. His mind would never allow such a thing. This boy had been the breaking point, he is what tore Yuna from him.

He attempted to step back into a darker area of the street, but not seeing a a quick retreat he faced the boy. "Well.. fancy meeting you out here...Tidus." The name came out as a hiss. "Whatever would bring you out into such a night?" His voice did not give the sound of concern for the boy, but mocking curiosity.

He drew himself up into his full height, looking down at the boy and begining to circle him. He held back the question he really wanted to ask. Where is Yuna?

Shit.

The exact same thought passed through Tidus's mind when he realized just who this other person was, and for a moment he wished he hadn't been curious.

"Yeah, a pleasure." He didn't bother to hide the disgust in his voice, nor did he ignore the tone of Seymour's. He knew how badly he hated this man, even though he couldn't really place why, so he didn't really expect Seymour to like him, either.

"Whatever would bring you out into such a night?"

He ignored the fact that Seymour was circling him. If Seymour was going to attack, Tidus wouldn't hold back on him - but he wasn't going to start an... unnecessary fight.

"Oh, you know, the usual," he said casually. "And you? Out on the prowl for any innocent-looking girls?"

Oh well, Tidus was never really good at holding his tongue.

"And you? Out on the prowl for any innocent-looking girls?"

Seymour stopped in his tracks and looked at the boy, raising his brow. "Oh are we already going to start with such crude remarks? Goodness and here I was thinking we could have tea and discuss the weather first." His voice was bitter and he rolled his eyes.

"No boy, I think that's your job obviously. Damaging innocent young women's minds." Seymour snorted in disgust. Tidus obviously was the one that put such thoughts into Yuna's head about leaving him. He was just some silly boy, what could Yuna see in such a.. dirty looking scrap of a man?

"Or perhaps you just returned from cheating some other poor girl out of her honest heart. I wouldn't put such cruelties beneath you." Seymour looked down his nose at Tidus.

Tidus wanted to laugh. This guy was funny.

Yuna had never told him just exactly what had happened between the two of them, but judging by Seymour's words, it was apparently all his fault. He decided that it wasn't worth mentioning that he had been gone for a few months.

"Insult me all you want," he said, confident. "Fact a is that you don't know anything, and fact b is..."

A smirk played on his lips. Some sick side of him had been wanting to say this for a long time.

"...Yuna dropped you like the bad habit you are, and you can't accept that that has nothing to do with me."

Seymour had begun to muse to himself and stop paying attention to the silly prat when the last comment jerked his head up to attention. "Bad habit? Hmph. No my dear boy I think you've got it all wrong. It's only low class nothings that slide along the bottom of this world that are the ones to turn those who are far better than you away from their place in the light. Yuna has no business being with the likes of you. I have no idea what sort of trickery you have told her to convince her to go to you."

Seymour shrugged and tried to act indifferently to the boy's words, though he would not be able to hold his patience for very long if they had to continue this conversation.

He pointed his finger at Tidus. "You should just be lucky I havn't contacted the proper authorities to report you for the underling that you are. And don't get so comfortable thinking I'd have to have an actual excuse for them to lock you up." He gave a wicked grin.

The laughter within Tidus slowly died away.

He hated it. He'd hated it for as far back as he could remember. People looking down on him just because he was a lower class than they were. Because he had to work to earn money, had to work to get things. He'd always hated it. And at that moment he hated Seymour just a little more.

He realized something. It was Yuna who suggested that they live together. It was Yuna who offered to pay for anything, as long as she had Tidus's company. It was an odd thought, but he almost thought that she needed him, in a way.

Whatever had happened between Yuna and Seymour - it was Yuna's decision to move on with her life. It really had nothing to do with Tidus. But for whatever reason, he felt the need to defend her.

But... accusing him of trickery? What the hell sort of thing was that, anyway? Did Seymour think that Tidus brainwashed her into moving in with him? How did Seymour know about that, anyway? None of it made any sense ( ... )

[OOC:Sorry for taking so long! Maybe my computer will behave now!]

Seymour continued to smile with a smug indifference.. that was until he felt a fist connect ever so perfectly with his jaw. The force set him stumbling back and placing a palm on the sore spot, he could feel it swelling. Was that... blood he tasted?

He glared at Tidus and stepped forward. "Resorting to violence already? Is that the only way your kind knows how to solve anything?" He clentched his fist and then spit the blood he could taste in his mouth at Tidus. "Stupid stray... do you wish to be kicked down like the dog you are or should I call the authorities into this? That would make it all the worse for you."

Seymour began his circling. "Who are they going to believe? The Maester? Or some filthy street urchin? Do you want to make a bet?" He snickered, rubbing his jaw, the boy did have a lot of punch in him.

"If you'd rather not make that bet.. I have no problem returning your.." he rubbed his jaw gingerly, "..kind gift."

Seymour's words were making Tidus angrier by the second. It took a lot of willpower in him to not tackle him to the ground and beat him until the anger died away. He wiped away the blood that hit him, fists clenching.

"Is that the only way you can deal with it, asshole? Using your high and mighty church 'authority' or whatever the fuck you do?" Tidus didn't care what he did.

"Were you born into a rich family? Is that why you think you're above other people? Fucking prick. You're just as low as everyone else. And I don't know what the fuck you did to Yuna, but whatever you did makes you ten times worse than someone like me, who didn't get everything handed to them like a spoiled fucking brat."

"Boy, you have no idea what living hell I've gone through to get to where I am now. Born rich? HAH! Far from it. But you wouldn't understand even if I told you because unfortunately you were born with a skull as thick as a rock." Seymour hissed and tightened his fists.

"And I don't know what the fuck you did to Yuna, but whatever you did makes you ten times worse than someone like me, who didn't get everything handed to them like a spoiled fucking brat."

Seymour growled and lashed out punching the young man in the gut as hard as he could. He would not have this fool bring him down to his level. "You know nothing!" He lashed out again in order to grab Tidus by the throat, squeezing as hard as he could. He wanted to watch him writhe. The temptation to unsheath his swords ever growing.. but he would wait.

He felt that the boy should struggle a little.. it made it all the more sweet to watch. "Since you do not feel I can handle you.. then let us have a go right here boy. I think this will be rather entertaining..."
