February Ficlets: Hitchhiking

February is upon us so it's time for a new theme for smallish fic. As always, size doesn't matter, post here or link whichever.

This month's theme is:
Hitchhiking
Possible ideas:
As a young man with no money, Giles often used to hitchhike places...
Giles probably shouldn't have stopped, but the hitchhiker looked harmless enough...
"I'm sorry, (insert companion of choice here), but I guess we've have to try and flag down a lift."...

Or of course, anything of your own. It's a free-for-all here. Bonus points for any Douglas Adams crossovers naturally.
