At least someone, somewhere, is showing some genuine decency and good sense. This country is a slightly better place today.

I am, admittedly, not always happy with marriage as an institution, but I hope there are many, many proposals tonight.

That's my feeling, too--I think that enshrining the sexual dyad as THE institution of highest love seems rather untenable ... but blast it, I want people to be able to commit to the ones they love. ;_;
