Smallville Review: Arctic: The Finale Part 2

And here we are: The final Clex scene ever *sob*

I'm going to miss seeing Tom interacting with Michael, on my screen, because even though all their lines now are about the other's fault, Tom and Michael, have always been able to make me believe that these two still care. They care so much about the other it hurts. ( I have tears in my eyes just ( Read more... )

The pose that Lex holds Clark in at the end is the traditional 'Hero rescues damsel in distress' pose which is hilarious because it's another instance of Clark being coded as feminine.

Plus, that's one huge frackin' damsel, man! :)

Though, thinking about it, Clark and Lex were two very emotional guys. More so than all the other male characters, certainly (Pete, Whitney, Ollie, even Jimmy-the-schmo). And, not to sound sexist, but it has been my experience that most women (MOST, not ALL) are better at expressing themselves emotionally than guys. In Clarks, case, with him being pretty much invincible physically, it follows that all the emotional wounds would hurt a lot more, a lot deeper. And Lex? Well, he's just got crazy genes and a whole helluva lot of trauma, so him latching on to Clark and sharing his feelings and dreams (especially in those early seasons) makes a lot of sense, too.

LOl IKR??? Clark's like 6'5.

And I agree with you that actually both guys were alot more emotional than the other men on the show, Lex especially was so much more open with his emotion that it hurt me every season to see him shut down.

And i think someone somewhere, wrote about Lois being coded as male, when it came to Clark, for she is the pursuer, traditionally the man's role.

And Lex and Clark would make two very catty women they?

And lastly I like you don't see how they live without the other, Clark can live without Lana, and Lois and Chloe, but Lex? Uh-uh....they have both invested to much in this relationship, to let that go
*Sobs*
