I know this is probably going to sound ridiculous, given that my fellow Democrats have given up long ago, but, nonetheless - I've finally gotten fed up with Obama for ceding ground. By the way, thank goodness the Democrats didn't do what I thought they were doing when I read your post -- permanently extending the Bush era tax cuts. Two years is a compromise but they did just landslide. I'm still an Obama-ite, even if I know the frustrated train is just around the corner.

I'm not going to weigh in on the dynamics of compromise, but yeah, I got a kick out of the fact that the "compromise" meant we cut revenue and increased spending.

And now, the Obama administration just announced it has "given up" attempts to convince Israel to renew the ban on settlements. Meaning no Israeli-Palestinian deal.

I think Obama is confused on the "day that will live in infamy" concept. He's taken it as "the day I give up on all principles, ever, and just admit that I can't make anyone do anything even as president of the United States." Take a note from FDR, Obama! This is the day of your great rousing of the American spirit!
