So Miss Ackerban is only two years younger. It's not completely perverted of me to find her attractive. She does look like a 5th year anyhow, and that's what I will say if I am accused of ( Read more... )

My first thought is, this boy is either completely insane or he has me confused with someone else. My name isn't McKipper!

"Oh, um, hi," I manage to reply to him, this person who has so rudely woken me up. Who the hell is he, and what does he want?" I manage a mumbled "Thanks," for the proffered chocolates, even though they're of a brand and flavour I absolutely can't abide. It's the thought that counts, I suppose.

"Didn't catch your name, sorry... are you a Quidditch player, maybe?" Possibly he's on one of the other three House teams, though I don't recognise his face.

"Quidditch?" I am horrified at the very idea. "Sink me, but no, my dear. Those bludgers would do horrible things to my face. Worse even than any Death Eater could manage. No, no, I am Gilderoy Lockhart, my dear, and I've come to congratulate you on your heroics. Without us, we all might have perished." My intent is to impress upon her that not only was I part of the battle myself, but that I actually saw her fighting herself. From my marvelous vantage point under my bed. Anyhoo.

Not a Quidditch player? This bloke's becoming less and less interesting by the minute. But it was nice of him to stop by and congratulate me, even if he's horribly conceited.

"Thanks. I was just doing my duty, doing what any future Auror should," I tell him, already weary of his presence. "So you were in the battle too, Mr Lockhart? I didn't see you anywhere - you must have been in another part of the building..."

Merlin. I hope he's not trying anything romantic on me. If he is, he'll be wearing those chocolates pretty damn soon!

She doesn't quite seem enthralled yet. Rather too involved with herself. I must remedy this. "Yes, yes, I was, my dear. I was in the dungeon preparing for dinner when- yes, those monsters broke into even noble Salazar's old haunts. Most of my peers were already at dinner and if it had not been for me, the entire next generation of Slytherins might have been erased from existence!" I can feel the heroic glow radiating off me.
