It's always a good sign when you finish a book and are already looking forward to the next one. I hope the series continues to be as good as this one clearly was.

I do, too. I think it will, going by the reviews. Plus, the writing is excellent, so it's hard to imagine that the second book would crash. Of course, it's been known to happen, so keeping my fingers crossed.

I love a good Greek retelling as long as it fleshes out what we already know and isn't just a rote telling.

same here, and this book does it in spade. Most books focus mostly on Achilles, so it was nice to read a book that centers on a character that's usually overlooked.

that does sound worth the read
only thing that holds me back is how graphic are its depictions of war
i'm overwhelmed with that subject on the modern theatre atm

It really doesn't get that much into the actual battles since it's focused on the women, especially Briseis.
