It sounds an interesting and poignant book. It is a shame the author didn't take it further. I recognise the author's name, but off hand I'm not sure if I have any books by her.

I do love how she manages to give the story poignancy without getting maudlin. I guess that's why I didn't want to let go of the characters.

You've probably read other people's reviews. She's written a lot of books.
