I like Joe Hill better when he isn't trying so hard to be his father; I still think Horns was his best novel.

That's it, exactly. He shouldn't try to emulate the master. *g* Though I did enjoy the little teasers from his father's work in this book.

I haven't read Horns yet, but I enjoyed Heart-Shaped Box.

It's a good book. Not a great one, but good. I certainly plan on reading more of his.
