I've heard very similar reviews from others who have read all three. Sorry that it wasn't as good as the first two.

I guess that’s good to hear, that it isn’t just me. But, at the same time, it’s not good that others found the book not to be up to his normal standards. I’m hopeful, though, that I’ll enjoy the next one.

I'm sorry to hear this book was a disapointment. But as you say, even the best author can have an off day.
