I have never read the story of Gilgamesh although I have heard about it a lot. I probably should read it eventually if only because it is what it is.

With storytelling changing so much over the centuries I am not surprised that it is not as interesting as it probably was back in the day.

I'm glad that you got to experience it even if it wasn't all that great.

That's basically the reason why I read it, because I would pick up references to it all the time. And it is one of those pillars of mythology. I suppose I thought it would be more like The Iliad and The Odyssey, for some reason.

Though I was disappointed in the story, I'm glad that I finally got around to reading it.
