I used to really be into U2 once upon a time, and I could over look their politics because the music was so good. I can't do it any more. It's crap like this that makes me just want to jack slap Bono for all his self-righteousness.

Bono's politics don't bother me, but the hypocrisy of something like that definitely does.

Maybe he's doing it because he doesn't want to support the war and will give the money to chairity instead? I dunno- has anyone asked him?

You do bring up a good point and it is believe it or not something I had considered. But the article points to lots of economic disparity in Ireland too, what of that?

I am a big believer that the ends justify the means and this is certainly not to criticize Bono, who so far as I can tell has done more for the situation than almost anyone else... just an interesting look at how the rules can be manipulated as it were.
