Surprisingly enough, I have been steadily working through fanfic100 prompts.  My problem lately has been actually publishing what I have finished.  Here are what will hopefully be the first two of more to come the next few weeks.

Title: Interrogation
Fandom: GI Joe
Pairing: Flint/Lady Jaye
Prompt: #25 - Strangers
Word Count: 399
Rating: PG
Author's Notes: Just a quickie that's been sitting on my harddrive forever.  Flint and LJ interrogate a Cobra prisoner.

I still had the situation under control, but this Cobra trooper was starting to piss me off.

“I would advise you to drop the cocky attitude,” I said as calmly as possible.  “You have an offer on the table and it would be wise for you to take it.”

The bastard grinned at me.  “I think you could make me a much more attractive offer.” He brought his handcuffed hands up to caress my cheek and I recoiled at his touch.

Before I had a chance to respond, Flint, who had been standing over our prisoner watching the interrogation, grabbed the trooper by his collar, pulled him out of the chair and slammed him into the nearest wall.  “If you put your hands on her again we’re going to continue our discussion from the comfort of your hospital room,” Flint threatened.

The trooper continued his maniacal grinning.  “How sweet.  Ms. tough girl has a boyfriend.”

“Flint, let him go.  He’s not worth the effort,” I said.  I turned towards Leatherneck who was standing guard at the door.  “Take him back to his cell.  He has nothing of use for us.”

Leatherneck nodded and collected the prisoner.  As he was being led away, the trooper turned and blew me a kiss. “Don’t be a stranger!” he said with a wink. Then he grinned at Flint.  I shook my head and rolled my eyes.

“Just when I think we’re scraping the bottom of the barrel, they surprise me,” I said.  Once the door closed behind Leatherneck and the trooper, I turned towards Flint.  “Is it even worth my time to remind you that I don’t need you to jump in and protect me?  Especially in a case like this.  I could have easily kicked his ass if I needed to.”

“Oh, I have no doubt you could have kicked his ass.  I just had enough of his crap,” Flint answered.

“We still have three more prisoners to interrogate.  Do you think you can keep yourself in check for the next session?” I asked.

“Hey, as long as they behave, I don’t have to get physical,” he said.  “You want me to get the next one?”

“Might as well,” I replied and I watched him walk out.  Once he was outside the door I smiled.  Sure, the macho bit was a little insulting to my feminist side, but it was damn sexy.

Title: Missing You
Fandom: GI Joe
Pairing: Flint/Lady Jaye
Prompt: #85- She
Word Count: 1688
Rating: PG
Author's Notes: A post break-up story.  LJ goes out for a night of fun and sees Flint with a new girlfriend.

Lady Jaye got out of her car, and locked the doors behind her.  She could hear the loud raucous music from the parking lot, and knew the Joes inside were having a good time.  She stretched, yawned and put a smile on her face.  She was determined to try and have some fun.

As she walked to the door she was greeted by a tipsy Alpine.  “Lady Jaye, what are you doing here?” he asked.

She raised an eyebrow.  “Am I not invited?”

Alpine stumbled towards her and put his arm around her shoulder.  “You, my friend, are always invited.  I just thought I remembered you bailing out on this evening’s festivities.”

“I did, but while sitting in my room alone, I realized I was way overdue for some fun.  So here I am.”

Alpine glanced towards the open door of the club, then turned back to her.  “I guess that’s your right.  Have fun!  I’m going to stay out here and get some more air.”

Lady Jaye nodded and smiled, however she wondered about Alpine’s behavior.  She shrugged it off and entered the club.  Her eyes scanned the large smoky room.  Several Joes were on the dance floor, a few were playing pool, and the rest were scattered throughout the tables inside the club.  She saw Scarlett and Cover Girl at one of the tables, so she headed that way.

Lady Jaye bumped into Ripcord on the way, and he promised to bring her a beer.  As she took a seat Cover Girl gave her a big smile.  “Good for you, Alison!  It’s about time you stopped moping around.”

“I wasn’t moping!” Lady Jaye said defending herself.  “Have I been moping?”

Cover Girl patted her shoulder.  “Nothing excessive.”

Ripcord arrived at the table with two beers in his hand.  He placed one in front of Lady Jaye.  “It’s good to see you out and about.”

Lady Jaye threw her hands in the air.  “Alright now I feel like I’ve been a hermit lately.  I didn’t think…” she began but stopped when she caught sight of Flint on the dance floor.  He had his arms wrapped around a pretty brunette, and his head was nestled into her neck.  “And that explains Alpine’s behavior,” she said with a sigh.

Cover Girl and Ripcord both turned their heads at the same time towards the dance floor.  Cover Girl again patted her arm.  “I’m sorry.  He only got here a few minutes ago.”

Lady Jaye shook her off.  “It’s fine, really.  He has every right to be here with whomever he wants.”  She continued to watch her ex on the dance floor.  “It’s just a little hard seeing him with someone else,” she admitted quietly.

Scarlett leaned forward.  “Alison, I know it’s hard.  But I really think this is the best for you.”

Lady Jaye exhaled sharply.  “I know you were never Dash’s biggest fan, Shana”

“I have nothing against him personally.  He’s a good friend, and a great soldier.  I just didn’t think he was the best match for you.”

Oh, and the world’s greatest ninja is perfect for you, Lady Jaye thought but held her tongue.  She didn’t want to pick a fight with Scarlett.  Lady Jaye knew her friend meant well, but it always irritated her that Scarlett passed judgment on Flint without really knowing him.  Of course, he didn’t help matters by publicly being an asshole so often, but it was the private side of him that Lady Jaye fell in love with.

As she continued to watch him on the dance floor, she knew she was still in love with him.  Which came at no surprise since she broke things off with him despite the strong feelings involved.  In fact the break-up happened because of it.  Lady Jaye had realized months ago that her relationship with Flint was hurting her performance on the team.  Too many times she had been distracted, and the last time it happened it nearly cost the life of a teammate.

When the two had returned from the disastrous mission, Lady Jaye told Flint she couldn’t do it anymore.  She needed a break.  It hurt her to do it, but she knew it was the best thing for both of them and the team.

Lady Jaye tried to get a good look at the girl he was with.  She wondered where he had met her, and how long they had been together.  Shortly after their break-up Hawk had sent Lady Jaye on a month long mission, from which she returned only the previous day.  That had been the reason for her initial refusal to go out with the others.  She still had a mountain of paperwork to catch up on.  She also realized she had a lot of gossip to catch up on as well.

“You know what bothers me about this?” Ripcord said as he nudged Lady Jaye.  Lady Jaye shook herself out of her thoughts.  She had no idea how long the conversation had continued on without her.

“What’s that?” she wondered after she asked Ripcord to repeat his question.

“If you were out on the dance floor with some random guy, Flint would probably have had him out in the back alley, pummeling him to death.  But he doesn’t have any problems waltzing in here with his new girl.”

Lady Jaye sighed.  She started a reply to Ripcord but stopped when she saw Duke walk over to Flint and tap him on the shoulder.  Duke then leaned in, said something to Flint that caused him to glance around the club.  His eyes met briefly with hers and then he turned his attention back to Duke.  Flint nodded, grabbed his girlfriend’s hand and led her off the dance floor.

“Oh fabulous,” Lady Jaye muttered.  “My life has just become a Grey’s Anatomy episode.”

Cover Girl let out a guffaw of a laugh.  “I’ll admit that Flint is a good looking man.  But he is no McDreamy.”

“Is McDreamy the one who admitted he’s gay?” Ripcord asked, which caused another loud laugh from Cover Girl.

Lady Jaye once again tuned out the conversation at the table.  She finished off the last of her beer, and rose from her chair.  “I’m going to get a refill.  Any others?” she asked and smiled when all three rose their empty beer bottles.

Lady Jaye grabbed an empty seat at the bar, and patiently waited to be served.  She had just gotten the bartender’s attention when she heard a voice say ‘hello’ just over her shoulder.  She placed the beer order and turned to face her ex-lover.

“Hi,” she said simply.  She gave him a small smile as they made eye contact.  He held her gaze for just a few moments before he dropped his eyes to the ground.

“Look, I wanted to say that I’m sorry about Liz.  I didn’t think you were coming, so I thought it would be okay to bring her,” he said without taking his eyes from the floor.

“You have every right to bring a date to these functions, Dash.”

“Yeah well, I’ve had a number of buddies tell me how much of an ass this makes me.”

The bartender returned with the four beers, and Lady Jaye had to turn away from Flint to pay the bill.  She half expected Flint to use that as his cue to leave, but he stood his ground.  “So her name is Liz?  How did you meet?” she asked lamely.

Flint brought his gaze from the ground and ran his hand through his hair.  “I really don’t want to have this discussion,” he said abruptly.

Lady Jaye was momentarily taken aback, but she tried to recover.  “Right, I understand.  I don’t really want to have this conversation either,” she mumbled.

“Anyway, I wanted to let you know that I’m getting out of here.  She wants to go home and I’m ready to go as well.  So you can tell your friends to back off.”

Lady Jaye had a vision of him in Liz’s apartment, and she was hit with a painful jealousy pang.  She knew she couldn’t speak, so she just nodded.  She was grateful when he quickly turned around and walked back to his table.  As she watched him go, she felt the well of tears begin to rise up in her eyes.  It wasn’t so much his actions that were upsetting her.  She was surprised at how quickly things had become uncomfortable between them.  She knew that things would never be the same between them, but she had hoped that they could maintain some sort of friendship.

She turned back to face the bar and tried to will herself to calm down.  The last thing she wanted to do was break down in front of all of her friends.  She felt a hand on her shoulder, and she spun around in her chair, expecting to see Flint once again behind her.  Instead it was Duke.

“Alison, I’m sorry.  That wasn’t fair to you.”

Lady Jaye shook her head and wiped at her eyes.  “I appreciate it Duke, but you don’t need to apologize for him.  There are lots of significant others here, so he should be allowed to bring his.”

“That’s very magnanimous of you,” Duke said.  “However, this is first and foremost a Joe function, which means you take priority over any of his guests.  Secondly, I doubt she’s that significant.”

Lady Jaye couldn’t help letting out a laugh.  “I don’t know if that makes me feel better or worse.”  She looked up and smiled at Scarlett who walked towards her.

“You okay?” Scarlett asked.

“I am, or at least I will be.  I would love it though, if we can maybe spend the rest of the night discussing anything but Flint,” Lady Jaye said as she stood from the bar.

“Cover Girl and Ripcord are still going strong on Grey’s Anatomy,” Scarlett offered.

“It works for me,” Lady Jaye said.  She took a deep breath, and turned back around for the beers.  She then cleared her mind of all thoughts of Dash and went to join her friends.
