If a tax on beauty, why not a tax on intelligence as well? And then you and I would be hit by a double whammy and have pretty much no income whatsoever.
And lacking income, we'd have to be kept as breeding studs for our superior genes.
Hmmm. I guess I'd be willing to go with it in the name of a fairer society.
Intelligence - you would have to convince me that intelligence improved quality of life beyond the effect of increased earning power. That certainly wasn't necessarily the case at, for instance, my school.
Well, as we've already agreed that there are financial benefits to being smart, I'm not sure how this is helpful - we need to agree there are other benefits, and that I would prefer to be smart based solely on these.
To answer though:
Yes, I am glad. But that's not really relevant - I mean, I would also rather have been a UK citizen, when there are several countries which score higher by almost any measure. I've had a good time being who and where I am, so I like those things.
I imagine if you asked a somewhat dim football fan if he would rather be clever and not support his team anymore, or keep supporting his team and being not so bright, he'd say he wanted to stay a fan. That doesn't necessarily mean that being a football fan is better than being clever. He knows the good times of football fandom, and likes them. So he rates them highly.

Tell me, then: Are you glad that you are relatively intelligent? Or would you prefer not to be, or not to have been?
