We never did schedule that next phonecall, alas. Tomorrow I'm off to my Dad's for a week. (Random tangent: I talk about "my friend in New Zealand" and we get regular visits from Oysterbanders from England and Canada, and we have folks in Panama and Italy and France and Japan, and my kid is growing up with a much different view of the world than I had at his age (there was the USA and Central America, and that was it for me). Which is all to the good, so far as I'm concerned.)
