I have ficc'ed!

For the first time in a long time. It's not long, but it's porny. Blame Hubby, whose reaction, upon seeing two extremely close male characters in the manly Cold War spy thriller "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy" was: "They're totally sleeping together." I have taught him well ( Read more... )

Perfect. Love the background (the first para could easily have been written by JLC), love the understated but powerful sex, love the thread of suspicion - always there, especially when denied.

Love you for writing this. O beloved author of one of the best Rome stories ever, when will you write again? Please?

LOL! I'd almost forgotten about Rome. That was such an awesome show.

I'm glad you liked it. There are quite a few fix it stories out there, where Bill lives and Jim eventually forgives him, but I'm harsher than that. I think the bastard got exactly what he deserved.

I wish I had more time for writing, I really do, but in between part-time work and full-time kid it's tough to find time. Hopefully I'll be able to do some more! Thanks for commenting! How's your son, by the way?

Keeping fingers crossed re. you finding time to write. Really and truly.

My son is 26 (!), working on his PhD (!!) and has a fairly serious girlfriend (!!!). As someone who is, sadly but logically, no longer #1 person in her child's life, may I respectfully suggest something I am sure you have been happily doing since Day 1 - enjoy (nearly) every moment with your daughter, she will be a grown woman all too soon. And relationships with grown children can be emotionally satisfying (mine is), but . . . it just ain't the same.

Wow! I loved this. I especially love how right alongside the passion, there's that utter tenseness of the scene, of Jim's doubts as they surge up and he tamps them down. And I love how easily he sees through everyone at the party, yet can't (or won't) see Bill. Really, really great.

Thanks for reading! Seeing the movie, I thought I'd be all about Peter Guillam and His Doomed Love, but I actually find this to be a much more interesting pairing. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Amazing fic, love the fact that Jim can't or doesn't want to see what Bill really is.

One little thing in Smiley's People Connie Sachs is a lesbian who has a relationship with a younger woman called Hillary.

Thanks for reading! I guess Jim didn't see as much as he thought he did!

I absolutely love this! The sex, the characterization, and the overall feeling of this fic are basically perfect. Fantastic work ♥

Can I ask if you're planning to write more of this pairing? Jim/Bill is one of my favorites and it's a shame there aren't more fics like this one :)

Glad you enjoyed it! I wasn't planning on writing any more, but you never know. I love the pairing, too!
