In Europe again. Oj oj oj!

March 8th, 2006 - 10:30 PM London (Stansted Airport lounge)Here I sit on a very hard chair in London, trying not to fall asleep while waiting for my flight. I spent the last 24 hours trying to get to Oslo. It has never been this complicated to get there, so I shall add this trip to the collection of "My craziest adventures". I´ve been seriously ( Read more... )

"I also told everyone I had a heart condition and I needed to make it to Norway that evening, in order to take my medicine"

And the Oscar for best actress in trying to make a plane goes to... YOU!

I know. That kind of thing requires skills! I cried and pretended I was out of breath and everything...you should´ve seen it. Next time I´ll just throw myself on the floor and pretend that I´m passing out!

Try to imagine how I felt when I went through all that. I didn´t even mention that I got on a plane to a small city in Norway after spending the night at the airport and went on a 2 hour trip to Oslo. I should´ve gotten an award for doing all that! :]

What a journey!!
Haha, really I can only guess how bad it is to fly economy. I never did it, at least not long flights. I have long legs, am not very social and get bored easily. But not even flying first class in enough to make me wish the flight was longer. I mean, fucking 14 hours to Heathrow... There's no way I can keep myself amused since I rarely manage to sleep in planes. I just wish concords were still operating and I was rich enough to afford the tickets. ;)

Oj oj oj! You never flew economy? Lucky Marie! Not only did I fly economy several times, but there was this time that I had no seat at all. I flew crew seat, meaning I could only have a seat during the meals, take off and landing. Then I had to go to this hard as rock seat that could only fit one ass cheek. I spent most of the flight talking to the crew, and the next thing I know I was serving orange juice to the other passangers in the kitchen. That was how I overcame my fear of flying. I wouldn´t complain if I only flew business from now on though. But I confess I enjoyed the ghetto class journeys as well, and I shall share them with the grandkids :D
Have a nice trip next time you go to our sweet sweet Rio.

That's for long flights only... for short ones I happily go economy most of the times. But I should be grateful to Alaric`s BA miles, as he flies enough to get me free business seats and sometimes we manage to get an upgrade to first, so I enjoy champagne, prawns and the much appreciated distance from people and big families with screaming babies, haha - I'm evil. Is it possible to get a crew seat? I didn't know that! I am not very well familiarized with planes as you might have guessed. And I'm off to Rio in less than two weeks, weee! Will send you a bit of sun. :)

Please do. I´ve been getting a lot of sun and blue skies actually, but the heat doesn´t want to pay us a visit at the moment. Too much snow everywhere. I still love this, and hopefully I won´t get sick of it anytime soon.

My brother is a captain, so I get "special" tickets very often. This means that I have many other options when it comes to flying. Good and bad. I was close to flying with the pilot last time I traveled. Now that would´ve been crazy!

Have fun in Rio for me. I miss coconut and acaí, even though it has been less than a week since I got here.

Nossa, nem me fale.

Wish me good luck :)
