Vid rec time y'all! I haven't posted really anything to my journal about this yet but this just in:

I remember when I was watching this show and being overtaken by it too. When it was good, it was some of the best television I've seen in my life ("In the Shadow of Two Gunman" still gives me chills and "Two Cathedrals" is one of the best episodes of television ever made). I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it. And I've loved seeing what you've made for your Tumblr, too. :)

I remember getting the chance to watch this show in my Senior Gov't class and I wanted to know soooo soo much more. ALl we saw were snippets that my teacher thought was relevant for us to watch but in that small time I was hooked on the epicness of what the show seemed to be. Now with you watching it makes me want to finally pick it back up and watch it all.

can you tell me why it's so good without giving away anything? Compare it to other shows and such?

I tried watching the first episode a while back but it just seemed dull and old and confusing and like Studio 60 (actually I mean that part in a positive sense!) and I lack any motivation to pick it up again

It's kind of hard for me to compare it to other shows, because it's really quite unique. I think the closest thing that I can think to compare it to off the top of my head is Friday Night Lights actually. In that it's a very realistic, honest, smart portrayal of drama. It has excellent, well fleshed out characters and storylines that don't treat you like an idiot [but at the same time you don't need to know all the political jargon either lol].
I think that's what makes it so awesome but at the same time probably what makes it so hard to take in right away. The first episode comes at you so fast and unexpected and it might take a couple more eps to get into the flow of the show. But trust me, once you do, you won't regret it. It's honestly already shot to the top of my favorite shows ever list :)
