My Flist is Full of Fail

Jul 12, 2008 02:41

I know it’s been forever since I’ve posted anything, but there are still 75+ of you who have me friended. Why, in 48 hours, could only three of you come up with prompts? Seriously. *sigh* Well, at least the three prompts I did get were diverse and interesting ( Read more... )

ff12, bleach, akatsuki

(sweatdrop) I didn't see the original request for prompts, I'm sorry! My chances at checking the flist have been pretty sporadic lately, what with the basement flooding with sewage twice in the past two months... ^^;;; and my birthday present to myself today is going to be going downstairs after each of the storm fronts we're getting today in order to see if any more flooding's happened, whee ha...

I don't know what happened with Orihime and Aizen (I gave up on Bleach a long time ago) but from the bits I do know about Aizen, that sounds creeeeeepily dead on...

Prompt now! The prompt post is my previous one, and since it's your birthday I can try and make it extra-long (though I can't guarantee I'd get it done today). Or, you know, ask for two if I fail at that.

Actually, Aizen is sort of bland in canon... I was basing him here at the point in the manga when he stabbed Momo and was still smiling at her.

Awesome! I've got about 8 minutes of birthday left in my time zone, so yeah, this is not gonna be like the Ultra Mega Lightspeed fic round or anything.

heh. I completely and totally believe that you write a much more complicated and interesting Aizen than the series writer. I guess it's one of the curses of being the mangaka of a Shounen Jump series: you have to keep coming up with just enough twists to keep people interested, but the people you have to keep interested are schoolboys with microscopic attention spans...

Well, yes, I freely confess I have been pretty much fail since April where LJ is concerned due to lawyerwork, which is a special category of AUGH all on its own. Believe me, if I'd seen it, I would have been all over that like a filthy shirt.

(I suppose it's too late now? Well, I'll just have to content myself with the Bleach and Naruto ones; Itachi and Kisame character introspections from you are always awesome, and since I've caught up with Bleach now I found the Aizen one lovely in an "oh dear God get Orihime out of there right now I don't care how good his mustard is he is CRAZY" way. Oh, hardships!)

For you (well, and chibirisuchan, but it's her birthday so hers will be longer), no, it's not too late. The prompt post is my previous one, if you wnat to check over what I'm looking for.

I felt like my Kisame and Itachi were rather dull this time around, but I was quite pleased with the Bleach prompt turned out.

(Love your icon, by the way.)

...I may have to trespass on your good nature and do just that. *hares off*

Fft, your Kisame and Itachi are never dull. And English tea with Aizen makes perfect sense, I mean, they've already stuffed Orihime in a poofy-sleeved dress...

(It is so bloody hard to find any icons of the Four, isn't it...Tayuya, sometimes, but the boys? Forget it. *on a similar note, just about bit own tongue in half over the fannish reaction to the latest chapter: "OMG there's a black guy in Naruto!!1!" Um...kids...six arms, headband, gamer-from-hell tendencies, ring any bells? No? Fail...*)

My Kisame and Itachi are all right, it's just sometimes I don't feel inspired while writing them.

(It is. I might have to gank your icon. *I always thought that Kidoumaru was half Japanese, half black. His eyes are tilted enough that he looks like he has to have some Asian blood in him*)

asd'foja;lsdkjf Thank you!

Orihime felt so spot-on -- her quirks and her character and, just, wow.

Also, Aizen, you manipulative bastard.

You're welcome! The prompt was fun. And I love writing Orihime. And yes, Aizen is that, though I'm not sure if here he's actually being actively so or actually just missing teatime and happens to push Orihime's buttons along the way.

Ah, thank you! ^_^ I'd be interested to see what your other idea was, if you feel like writing it.

You're welcome. My other idea was this sort of meandering fic where Itachi and Kisame both realize early on in their partnership that their partner is still loyal to his home village and just joined Akatsuki as a spy, then reach the conclusion that they were partnered together because the Akatsuki leader wants to keep all the spies in one group. They proceed to spend the next seven years hanging out and actually acting like themselves around each other because they can't around anyone else and disparaging the other Akatsuki for their lack of village loyalty. When Kisame finds out after Itachi's death that the person he was spying for was the Akatsuki leader on Itachi all along (since Madara is the Mizukage and Itachi wants him dead), he has an 'well, crap' moment and proceeds to be exceedingly distracted for a while because it completely invalidates his friendship with Itachi over the past seven years that the information he reported to the Mizukage helped lead to Itachi's death ( ... )

That actually sounds really interesting! If you do get around to writing it, I'll definitely read. As the manga's gone on, it really has seemed more and more like they were actually friends, but I don't know of many people (if any) who've explored that in fic at all, so this would be neat. (I think some amount of mindfuck is required - this is Itachi we're talking about, after all. XD)

asdf;lkj SOMEHOW, I missed this. And-- ad;fslkj ♥

I just-- there's something about the interactions between Gabranth and Larsa that just-- oh. ♥

The question made something within Noah pang, as reminiscing about his father had not. Ouch. That made my heart pang.

But this: I always thought Landis was beautiful in autumn. Oh-- That was beautiful.
