While it seems that untreated mental illness may have played a role in this latest horror (or so everyone assumes), I agree with most of your points. To much violence and too many guns. The rest of the world thinks we're gun-crazed loonies, and they're right. We're their NYC. I hope the gut-wrenching deaths of so many young children inspire some kind of gun safety legislation as a result. (Also, I'm sorry NYC stole your innocence like that. The violent crime rate there is now a very small fraction of what it used to be, but you're still allowed to hate it, of course.)
