In a development that would make my ten year old self wet himself with excitement, and which isn’t far off from having the exact same effect on my thirty year old self, Aardman Animations are planning to make a film of The Pirates! Of course. I'm pretty sure there's nothing that producers love more than writers saying "is it okay if my pen-friend from Portland does one of the voices? I've not actually heard her do a british accent, but I'm sure it will be fine!"

Wow! Congratulations! I would love to see that!! Of course, it won't be as good as the book, but no doubt it will inspire whole new generations of Pirates! fan-fiction!

My life thus far this week has been consumed by Pirates (thanks to phoole) and Aarmanan DVDs (and Shorty Rogers). I'm excited for you, but now I will be anxious right up until the movie opens at the Oriental Theatre here in Milwaukee.

I heard Sarah Jane Smith was back in the series, but I had no idea she'd become a producer as well. Of course, I only know about her from the incoherent mumblings of the unpopular ninnies whom I bully relentlessly.
