“Pack up, we got a case.” Gibbs stated, donning his firearm and badge.

“Where to, Boss?” Tony asked shrugging into his coat and catching the keys tossed at him.

“Long Island. Two marines and a civilian were found dead in an empty warehouse.” Gibbs answered as he walked towards the elevator. McGee, Tony and Kate were close on his heels.

“Someone call Ducky, let him know.”

“On it, Boss.”

~*~

“What’ve you got Duck?” Gibbs asked as he crouched next to one of the bodies.

“Well they all died at roughly the same time.” He said, glancing up at Gibbs with a smirk as he removed the liver prob.

“And if my calculations are correct, I’d say these men died about seven hours ago. You know, the three of them here remind me of a time when I was working for-”

“Duck. Not Now.” Gibbs stopped him as he stood up to go interview the kids who called in the 911.

“Hey Boss? Why aren’t the local LEOs fighting us over this one?” Tony asked, as he continued taking photos.

“Because they’re busy with the mass pile-up on the highway, DiNozzo.” Gibbs replied, taking a sip of coffee as he continued on his way.

“Right.” Tony snapped off a few more shots before he put his camera aside to help McGee and Kate finish processing the scene.

~*~

“What’ve you got for me, Abs?” Gibbs questioned, setting the Caf-Pow down in front of her.

“Hey Bossman! Um… so far I’ve got the prints McGee collected running through AFIS and the DNA from the hair that was collected--is done now. Uh oh.”

“Uh oh? What’s ‘uh oh’ Abby?”

“Well, the hair that was found at the scene doesn’t match any of the vics. But it does match…”

“Abby, I don’t have time for games.”

“It has alleles in common with… Tony. And since his mom passed away a few years ago and he doesn’t have any siblings…” Abby trailed off again.

“It’s Tony’s father.” Gibbs finished for her. The loud crash behind them made both of them turn around to see Tony looking like he just saw a ghost.

“My… f-father?” And then he was on the floor.

~*~

“Jethro, I really don’t think you should have carried Anthony all the way here.” Ducky reprimanded lightly.

“Well, what else was I suppose to do Duck? Leave him there?” Gibbs replied, purposely avoiding the MEs eyes. He knew that if it was McGee he probably would’ve left him on the floor and made Ducky come to them.

“I think he’s waking up.” Kate noticed, seeing Tony’s eye lids flutter.

“Well give him some room everyone.” Ducky tried to move the worried team away from the exam table so he could assess Tony’s injuries.

“Tony! Can you hear us?” Abby asked nudging Tony’s shoulder slightly, trying to get a response out of him.

Tony opened his eyes to see Gibbs’ face directly above his own only it was upside down. Then as his vision became more focused he was aware that Abby was on one side of him with McGee next to her and Kate and Ducky were on the other side. They were all peering down at him like he was some sort of exotic animal.

“Are you alright Anthony?” Doctor Mallard asked concerned, gently pushing everyone away from the exam table they had placed him on.

“Am I dead?” Tony asked sitting up, rubbing the back of his head.

Gibbs barely resisted tapping the back of Tony’s head at that.

“No Anthony, you’re not dead” Ducky smiled, shining his penlight into Tony’s eyes, checking for signs of concussion.

“Then who hit me?” Tony groaned, clutching his skull.

“No one hit you DiNozzo.” Gibbs really had to refrain from giving his senior agent a tap on the head.

“Then what happened?”

“You feinted Tony.” Kate teased lightly, showing her relief through their usual bantering.

“Great.”

“Ok, everybody out, we still got a case to work.” Gibbs said, herding everyone out of autopsy.

“Bye Tony.” Abby said giving him a kiss on the cheek and then she left dragging McGee with her. Kate hesitated for a moment before following. Ducky and Gibbs were the only two that remained.

Ducky went over to the cabinet to get some Advil for Tony to help dull the pain.

Meanwhile, Gibbs just stared at Tony, trying to figure out what to do.

“How are you really feeling Tony?” Gibbs asked as soon as Tony had downed the pain killers, stepping up closer to his agent.

“Just a little sore, Gibbs, nothing to worry about.”

Gibbs rolled his eyes and stepped even closer to Tony, gripping his neck.

“Tony.”

“You’re talking about my father, aren’t you?” Tony ducked his head, avoiding Gibbs’ intense stare.

“Boss, I-”

“Boss! We’ve got a lead!” McGee said running into autopsy.

Gibbs dropped his hand quickly and made his way out the door. McGee just looked dumbfounded for a minute as he looked at Tony.

“McGee! DiNozzo! Let’s go!”

~*~

“Excuse me! You guys can’t cross the yellow tape.” A LVPD officer said, blocking Gibbs’ path.

“We’re NCIS, we have a lead on a suspect that is staying here.” Gibbs said flashing the officer his badge

“That’s all well and good, but this is a crime scene, we have our own investigations.”

“What’s going on over there?” Catherine Willows asked, stepping up to the officer.

“Nothing, Ma’am, just trying to stop these people from entering the crime scene.”

“Well, if it isn’t Leroy Jethro Gibbs. What brings you all the way down to Las Vegas?” Catherine asked, smiling, as she ducked under the tape to give the man a hug.

“Hey Cath, long time no see.” Gibbs said, hugging her back.

“Did you bring DiNozzo with? I’m sure Nick and Warrick will be happy to catch up with him.”

“Right here Cath.” He said coming up to give the red head a hug also “Where are those two, anyway?”

“You wouldn’t be looking for us, now, would you Tony?” Warrick smirked walking over to the small group, Nick not far behind.

“Hey boys!” Tony grinned, grabbing both men into one gigantic hug.

“Wait, wait, wait. How do you guys all know each other?” Kate asked Gibbs and Tony, as she watched them interacting with the CSIs.

“Sorry. I’m Catherine Willows with the Las Vegas Crime Lab.” Catherine introduced herself to Kate and then McGee, shaking their hands.

“I’m Nick,” the brown eyed man introduced himself next with his innocent Texan smile “And this big lug is Warrick.” He finished, introducing his boyfriend to the group.

“Big lug? Boy you better watch that mouth of yours.” Warrick bantered as he shook Kate and McGee’s hands as well.

“You didn’t think this would’ve been the first time we’ve had to work a case in Las Vegas, did you Kate?” Gibbs said, responding to Kate’s earlier question.

“So Warrick got any names for me?” Tony asked with a cheeky grin.

“Ah, no. I’ve had to stop gambling for a while. It got a little out of hand. Besides I’ve got a new distraction that keeps me busy.” He replied with a wink and Nick’s ears got a little pinker.

“So Cath, what do you guys got?” Gibbs asked, ignoring the boys’ bantering, and refocusing on the job at hand.

“A double homicide. No marines though, if that’s what you’re wondering.” She replied.

“No they were killed in New York, we followed the suspect here to this hotel.”

“Oh yea, are they staying here?”

“Yeah,” Gibbs said. “McGee! What room is our suspect in?” He asked over his shoulder.

“Um… let’s see here… He’s on the 28th floor in room 28012.” McGee informed his boss.

“Well, looks like we get to share this one.” Catherine smiled again before turning around and heading towards the Bellagio, Gibbs following behind her, and the rest of their team following them. Nick, Warrick and Tony were catching up with each other the whole time.

~*~

“Tony!” Greg shouted as soon as he saw the NCIS agent. That was the only warning he got before he had his arms full of a hyper Greg.

“Greggo! How are you buddy?” Tony asked, setting the lab tech back on the ground.

“And I thought Abby was hyper.” McGee commented to Kate under his breath. Kate laughed softly, lightly smacking McGee’s arm.

“Jethro.” -What-you-doing-here?- Grissom signed as he came around the corner and saw the NCIS agent.

-Hello-Gil-we-got-case-led-here- Gibbs responded back.

-You-still-got-touch- Grissom signed -Abby-keep-you-in-line?-

-Always- Gibbs smiled.

“So what happened in DC?” Grissom asked, walking with Gibbs towards his office.

“New York actually. We were called in because-”

“Man I hate it when they do that!” Tony said watching his boss.

“Walk away while talking?” Greg asked confused, looking in the direction of their bosses as well.

“No. When he starts communicating with people in sign language. Him and Abby do it all the time! I mean its cool that he can, it’s just frustrating when they do it in front of you and you have no idea what they’re saying.” Tony said.

“Well why don’t you start learning it?” Greg asked.

“Because he obviously hadn’t thought of that Greggo.” Warrick said coming up to the two.

“I don’t know why you didn’t. I’m sure you’d impress Gibbs a bit more if you did. Have Abby teach you. You’re like a brother to her.” Nick said, grabbing a seat next to Warrick in the break room.

“Yeah, but then she’d ask me what I’d want to learn for. And she always knows when I’m lying.”

“Oh cause she doesn’t already know that you’re in love with your boss.” Greg commented pouring himself some of his gourmet coffee.

“That’s not true…” Tony protested weakly, thanking whatever god he could think of that McGee and Kate were off getting lab results instead of listening to this conversation.

“Right.” The three Las Vegas people chorused in unison before breaking out into laughter.

“Ok boys, parties over, we got a lead on where Tony’s father is.” Catherine said coming into the break room with Kate and McGee behind her. “Where’s Jethro?”

“I was catching up with Grissom,” he answered from the doorway. “What’ve we got?”

~*~

“Catherine, you, Nick and Warrick secure the perimeter, McGee and Kate you two take the front and Tony and I-where’ s DiNozzo?!” Gibbs asked worried.

~*~

“Tony stop squirming.  Geez, you never did sit sill as a child.” The voice spoke softly but hurriedly.

“Dad?” Tony asked searching for his father in the dark.

“Yeah it me. What are you doing out here?” His father demanded.

“Looking for you! We found your hair at a crime scene in Long Island where two marines were murdered! And then we found your blood at another crime scene in the Bellagio, in the room you rented. So why don’t you tell me what’s going on?” Tony responded, his eyes still adjusting to the dark.

“Look, I didn’t want you to get involved in this. Especially when I found out you went into law enforcement. It was too dangerous. I had to let you go. I’m sorry, but I felt like it was the only option I had. I know you probably hate me and that’s fine, but I didn’t want you mixed up with this type of business.”

“Why didn’t you just tell me? I could’ve helped you out.” Tony responded, finally able to look at his father.

“Because… I didn’t want you to know. I knew you’d be disappointed and it was a job I just couldn’t get out of.”

“So what are you going to do now?” Tony asked, rubbing the back of his neck.

“Turn myself in, I guess. There’s not much else I can do. I just want you to know, Anthony, that I do care for you. And I never took you out of my will. I hope you can forgive me for what I’ve done. Now you need to go back out to your team, and do you’re job.”

And then the older DiNozzo left and all Tony could do was sit where he was in amazement before finally getting up and joining the team outside.

~*~

“What the hell were you thinking, Tony?!”

“I was doing my job.”

“Not well enough if you have to put your life in danger to accomplish it.”

“Oh, that’s rich coming from you. Like you wouldn’t have done the exact same thing! What more do you want from me, Gibbs?”

“I want you to stop putting your life in jeopardy, Tony. That time with Jeffery White wasn’t enough for you? What about with Commander Voss? Or when you got kidnapped-”

“How much longer do you think they’re going to be?” McGee sighed, watching his boss and Tony continue to fight. Their argument had been going on in a circle for a while now and McGee and Kate couldn’t do much more than watch.

“I got five bucks on Gibbs claiming Tony by the end of the week.” Warrick stated coming up to the two NCIS agents.

Both Kate and McGee’s mouth dropped to the floor.

“Hey now, Warrick, no betting. And no scaring the Navy cops. Look what you did to poor McGee!” Nick sauntered up next to his partner, giving him a playful swat on the ass.

“Hey man, I just call ‘em like I see ‘em”

“Alright you two, enough. Hey! Jethro! Maybe you could finish riding his ass later?”

Warrick hid his laugh behind a cough. Catherine was the queen of double entendres and it was refreshing to hear it being applied to someone else for a change.

“We’ll continue this later DiNozzo.” Then Gibbs walked back towards the group with a simple slap to the back of Tony’s head.

Tony looked at the night sky in annoyance before following after Gibbs to join the group, making sure he stood by Nick and Warrick, which was about as far away from Gibbs as he could get.

~*~

“So, Tony, you staying for a few more days? Warrick and I are gonna go out dancing tonight. Greggo might tag along too. You should come.”

“No, he’s not. He’s coming back to DC with the rest of us.” Gibbs said with a little bit of jealousy creeping into his voice as he came up to the small group.

“I’m not a child Gibbs, I can make my own decision.”

“Well if you stay here you wont have a job when you get back to DC.” Gibbs said stepping into Tony’s personal space.

“Who said I was going to stay here? I just said I could make my own decisions. I don’t know why you’re being so-”

The rest of his sentence was cut off by Gibbs’ mouth on his.

“Wow. I can’t believe you missed that, Warrick. You were way off.”

“Come on babe, let’s leave these two alone to catch up on lost time.” Warrick said, ushering the Texan out of the locker room.

“What the hell are you doing, Gibbs?!” Tony asked, pushing the man away slightly.

“What I’ve wanted to do for a while. I thought it was what you wanted too.” Gibbs looked a little confused and crestfallen.

“Of course I want it Gibbs! But did you have to do it in front of those two?! I’ll never be able to live this down.”

It took Gibbs a half second to realize what Tony was talking about before breaking out into a huge grin and pinning said man to the row of locker doors.

“Good. I didn’t want our relationship to start with us fighting.

“Gibbs, you know that usually only happens in romantic comedies. And no matter how much I sometimes wish it was, life is not the movies.” And then Tony brought his mouth to Gibbs for another kiss.
