You must watch the show - it has been quite a while since I've been so in love with a pairing. Reese is a broken princess who is saved by his prince Finch, and I am not even exaggerating.

I am chagrined to find that I haven't commented on this yet -- I think it was posted before I had really fallen for the show. But now that I have -- oh! I've watched it a dozen times -- woke up this morning just having to watch it again. I have no coherent thoughts, just LOVE. The contrast between the past -- the bad relationships -- and the present, with Finch looking out for him (and vice versa).

It's interesting that the song works so well, too, given that we both see that dynamic of "Reese needs somebody to tell him what to do," while the lyrics are about not being owned. Finding the right master/leader/whatever is freeing -- lets Reese be his own person, do his best work.

I love the clips in the "but he's a spirit" section -- Finch working in the background to do good or to look after Reese. And then "he never does me harm" -- basically from there to the end of the song -- *FLAIL* So much love.
