I has an audition on Tuesday. Please let me know what you think of this as a monologue

Satan has long been known as the Adversary, but God fears women even more than He fears the devil - and is right to. She, with her power to bring life into the world, was truly made in the image of the Creator, not man, and in all ways has proved Herself a more deserving object of man's worship than Christ, that unshaven fanatic who lusted for the ( Read more... )

Some parts are not to my taste, but that is not a bad thing at all. Overall I think it is fantastically thought provoking.

I should give the reason for my mild stumbling blocks. I can happily criticise god. I just never could bring myself to have any distaste for Jesus. He was just too close to my own Buddhist philosophy.

I think the spitting vitriol in these words and the discomfort that the language and concepts stir up in me are amazing. You make me feel like I am repeatedly being slapped and this is going to make people squirm in their seats. They will not soon forget it.

You have chosen powerful words and images for your monologue and I think you will knock their socks off. Good luck!

I get where you're coming from totally. The first time I read this it make me squirm, and I've been wearing a Green Man around my neck for years. (Lots of indoctrination as a child to overcome still, I suppose.)

To me though it feels less like slagging off Jesus per se as being pissed at him on behalf of the lost loved girl. Almost a childish petulant thing - she invested so much in this person and in the end he did nothing to repay or help her when she most needed it. If you take the three-but-one view of the trinity, Jesus in this sense is an extension of god. God is an intangible, but Jesus is an actual person that can be imagined to have revenge exacted upon.

(I also share your dichotomous views - god I'm not a big fan of, but Jesus himself had some pretty cool things to say.)
