I hope the vet is getting something similar in the mail. No pain meds but antihistamines and extra fluids? Jesus.

Almost makes me want to be a nurse again on the off-chance they end up wheeled into the ER. "Oh, you've got a compound fracture of your arm? Here, have a claratyne."

Tsk. A claratyne and a gatorade.

Nah, not Gatorade. It can actually taste nice. That horrible salty green stuff they give you for dehydration. *nods*

I'd mention the name of the vet to locals so as to discourage their use...

In person I shall; on the web I don't want to leave myself open to libel/slander accusations.

Holy shit! Is there anywhere you can report these jerks to?

There's a state board that deals with the actual vetinary treatment of the animal and a national board that deals with fees complaints. They're both going to get a letter from me, though probably in a few days time when what I write is less likely to be filled with invective and four-letter words. I've already emailed the foundation that sent me to them - they need to know what kind of people they're recommending through their network.

Name please. I have connections with cat rescue and will see to it that they have significantly less business from here on.

That makes me so angry, and I'm so sorry for your poor baby girl. Wishing her a speedy recovery.

omg. i'm am quite literally speechless. i was under the impression that vets cared about the animals they treat and not the money they recieve and did the best they could to make the animal comfortable - not unlike a human hospital really.

ifwhen i've convinced pots to finally get the cats (gotta find a russian blue breeder) i've been wanting for almost our entire relationship, i'll be sure to get details of said vet so i can give them a wide berth.

til next....
