Here's another think. Let x = the amount of money it would cost to urine test every Centrelink applicant every week. Let y = the amount of money recovered should those found with unacceptible levels, of what the fuck ever this guy thinks is ruining the county in their wee, are breached.
I bet x is more than y.
Dear Hard-Working Aussie. Maybe you should have worked harder in Maths. Maybe in grade one. Maybe then you wouldn't be working in a mine, raping the fucking environment so the general manager of BHP can snort a couple of extra lines of a rentboy's cock a month. Maybe you should shut the fuck up you ignorant turd. Try turning off Alan Jones and John Laws and thinking with your OWN brain for a second. I know it's scary, but you know what, if you maybe smoked some pot once in awhile, you could calm the fuck down instead of driving yourself into reactionary apoplexy and giving yourself a stroke at age forty.
Or not. Die. See if I fucking care.

oh, very quick minor point from the last federal budget - for every dollar that goes to Centrelink PAYMENTS (not it's operating costs - its operating costs also come out of the section in the budget that covers Welfare), about $16 goes to corporate welfare in terms of subsidies. $1 to medicare is matched by $2.14 in welfare to private health insurance companies in terms of rebates and direct subsidies to the companies, and from memory for $1 to public schools, ~$3 goes to exclusive private schools. According to the ABS, the vast majority of the taxes paid by Australians (not counting GST) comes from individuals earning between $25k and $50k with children, and not businesses.
Let's not forget that baby Packer was able to get Austudy when he went through uni as his father earned less than $14k.
You see, I think I'm almost over my Paterfamilias's latest bout of right-leaning asshattery, and, having made my small "get it up ye" statement in return, can sit and make measured responses to other points of views ... and then you have to go and bring up the actual numbers involved and suddenly my blood pressure rises and I'm right back to Anarchy in the Antipodes.
if it helps, the Rage subsides with time. It doesn't get better, but you just become more cynical. BTW if you want to know how to make things go boom - don't forget to check out the library at UQ. :)
