I agree with bytwos, read Dylan. You wouldn't think Dylan's songwriting genius could translate into a memoir, but damn. He's good, and he really had a crush on Guthrie.

i worked at taco time for the longest time and i hate tacos, so i know exactly what you're going through. but i'm sure it pays well? ish?

Well enough. About a buck above minimum wage, which is alright considering it doesn't really require skill or motivation. And it is a really gross job.

I've also considered becoming the first Samuel Beckett fireman, meaning I would be fairly incoherent a lot of the time and use inexplicable and often counter-intuitive methods in the fighting of fires (acceptable, of course, under the grounds of experimentalism). This would probably be less of a hit at parties.

I'm not convinced a fireman is inherently phallic. I could be the one driving the truck, or a dalmation-wrangler.
