Is Portland, WA like Vancouver, OR?

(Although I could be really, really mistaken and there could actually BE a city named Portland in the state of Washington.)

(My in-laws live in Vancouver, WA. However, because everyone in the Seattle area assumes you are going to Vancouver, BC when you mention going to Vancouver, I've just started calling it Vancouver, OR, to help them get the point, since they didn't hear me when I said I was going DOWN to Vancouver.)

I didn't make it outside of metro Portland this year, let alone to Idaho or any other state. Just Oregon and Washington this year.
