I heard a group of you went into the forest and discovered something there. Something I may be able to help with. Please contact me here, or arrange for a meeting place so we can talk. I would like to know more.
Also, Jack? Alex? I heard you went into the tunnels too. Did you both make it out in one piece?
Did you find anything?
holloways keep,
tunnels,
chloe saunders,
forest

[ He is grinning. She can't see it but it would be in his voice.]
Many a thing was found in both places. The rather short answer is: they are not a place you would wish to stay long.
[Yes. He found things alright.]

That and the rock. Jar was under the headstone, rock on top.
[Confused pirate is confused.]
How come? The stuff inside seems to be the same stuff my little group encountered underneath us in the tunnels. It was different. For one, it seemed to be apart of something living. Also, the smell.
[He gestures at her knife, and his sword.]
Seems to be they've taken our weapons and dulled them some how. This was found with all the book things under our feet. Sharp as you could want it, even if a little on the small side.
If I could find a whetstone, I'd gladly sharpen your blade for you.
[He has quite the frown on his face.]
Not a damn thing. Not yet at least.

S-so... the things in the j-jar are... remains? F-from the living. [That's what she was both afraid of, and somewhat anticipatory towards.] Jack. [She looking directly up at him, now, gaze riveted to his in her seriousness at the situation.] C-can I... borrow that? [She points to the jar, hesitates, then includes the rock in that as well.] I promise to bring them back to you. W-with any information I come across in the meantime. [She's dead serious, Jack, and completely intends to keep her word.]
[A small smile flits across her lips at his offer.] Thanks. I'll keep that in mind if I ever find one.
[That beseeching look is back.] Let me see if I can find any answers. I-I'll sit on it for a night, sh-show a few people if you don't mind, and bring it back to you by tomorrow, with any information we might have. [She's holding her breath here, waiting for his response.]

[Then he gets possessive. VERY possessive.]
Why?
[Sorry girlie, he is immune to those beseeching looks of yours. Not when his hard won treasures were to be whisked away to heaven knows where!]

[Then Jack gets possessive and seems to not like that idea very much, and Chloe inwardly winces. She half expected as much, but still. A girl could hope.]
W-w-well... a-a few of us a-are planning on going into the forest. T-to see what we can find. S-since you already found something...
[Her expression falls.] Maybe I should just forget it until we get back.

How many of you are going? Who?
[Pirate is in Captain mode.]

[Sorry, Jack, Chloe can't invite you. Especially since the log already started. D:]

Four of you? And your going?
[He is looking at you like you couldn't swat a fly.]
That is not a place you wish to be knowing with any amount of familiarity, unless you have a sword hidden somewhere upon your person... ?
Reply
N-n-no. No sword. [Just her little dulled switchblade.]

I'll be fine. I'm not going alone.
Besides, I have a very special move if I run into anything too dangerous. [She leans toward Jack a little, as if about to impart on him the most sacred of secrets, and whispers:] Run.

I hope perhaps for your sake, these people are made of metal and are able to lift small mountains?
[Jack actually leans back away from her as she leans forward. He knows this trick! He won't be caught again!.
Then, he pauses.]
The most noble of traditions that.
But I do think I've one better, should your fleet footedness fail you.
[And he stands.]

It is. [And she's grinning, glad he agrees, though her smile slips and her curiosity grows at his next words. This time she is the one leaning back suspiciously, waiting for what he might say or do.]

He walks back to Chole. His face is devoid of the usual mirth that resides there.]
Then you'll be needing this.
[It's not a request.]

Y-y-you're sure?

That will do you no good, out there.
There are plants that move, like no plant should; Deer that hunt like a pack of wild dogs. And a giant rock-thing who seems to dislike pigeons enough that it goes and rips them in half like tearing a bit of paper up for the trash.
[Are you sure you want to go Chole?]
I'll not have you leave here, without giving you some kind of chance.
[This pirate does not send the uninformed or unequipped into danger. Especially since no ill will has been borne him by said party.]
