Steampunk I - natural form - overskirt

So a while back I've put this project aside because I didn't like the way the long draped overskirt (TV324) looked. Now I'm considering to make the Hermione overskirt (TV326).

It will scrunch down your fantail skirt but overall, with the corset, will give you a slimmed down look.

Hmm, you're right about that. Another option that crossed my mind is to only make the top panier and not the apron. That way more of the skirt is revealed. But still I'm not sure if this is the right skirt. I just can't make up my mind what kind of overskirt will look right with the fantail.

Have you looked at the other overskirts on Truly Victorian? They usually have photos of it made up.

Yes, I have. I looked at so many pictures that I just couldn't decide at all. But I think I have found the solution. I will stick with the long draped overskirt but use extra ribbons on the front to pull it up. I have made a design that I will be posting later.
